FAFSA
Free Application for Federal Student Aid

Clicking on the image above will take you to the FAFSA application. It opens for current seniors to fill out on January 1st. While the main reason to fill this out is to see what sort of financial aid you qualify for if you continue your education, the state of Illinois did make it a graduation requirement, so you either need to fill this out of fill out a FAFSA waiver form.Below is a step-by-step video on how to fill it out, and what information you may need. The video is divided into chapters, so you can open it on YouTube and look in the description to skip to specific parts.

BGHS College & Career Center Website

Website run by Mr. Genovese and Mrs. Becker. This is your BEST resource for any of your post-secondary plans. It is strongly recommended you access this site first before looking elsewhere.

Letter of Recommendation

Go to https://BrianLinhart.com/LOR to request a letter of rec for an application, scholarship, job, etc. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ THE INFORMATION IN THE LAST QUESTION CAREFULLY!

Parchment

This is where you go to request your official transcript to be sent. If you are applying to a school that is on the Common App, Coalition for Colleges, or SENDedu you DO NOT need to requests your transcripts to be sent; I upload them automatically for you.

Common App

The Common Application is an application that a lot of colleges and universities use for their admissions process. You fill out your general information once, and then answer specific essays related to each school you are applying to.

Coalition for College

Similar to the Common App, the Coalition for College is smaller with around 150 schools, but also is a place where you can apply to multiple schools at once.

SENDedu

Like the other two, SENDedu allows you to send documents to multiple schools at once.

College Covered

CollegeCovered.com was created by Discover Student Loans to provide students and parents/guardians with the know-how to plan and pay for college. This website offers a variety of resources and tips for each step of the college planning process. (YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A DISCOVER CARD OR DISCOVER STUDENT LOAN TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE RESOURCES)
